The Thetford and District Dementia Support Group (TADDS) is a registered charity that provides essential support, information, and a compassionate community for those affected by dementia. We are committed to enhancing the well-being and quality of life for individuals with dementia, as well as their families and carers. Our mission is to foster an inclusive environment where everyone can feel supported and valued, and to reduce the stigma associated with dementia.
We provide weekly emotional support, practical tips, and meaningful activities to help individuals live well with dementia. Our group fosters empowerment, encourages participation, and offers a welcoming space for laughter, connection, and support. We also raise community awareness to reduce stigma and provide workshops and training for broader understanding.
Join our team of volunteers and support individuals with dementia and their carers through creative activities, befriending, and training opportunities. Volunteering with us builds confidence, enhances skills, and fosters meaningful connections. Contact us to learn more.
Thetford and District Dementia Support Group is supported through our own fundraising efforts, grants and community donations. We receive no statutory funding and are independent of any national dementia charity.
Thetford and District Dementia Support (TADDS) has been a lifeline for individuals and families navigating dementia since its first group day in July 2014. Founded by Joanne Mountjoy-Dixon, an experienced Dementia Lead, TADDS was created to fill the gap for those in Thetford and surrounding areas who lacked adequate support.
